Xhenophobia must fall

Say no to xenophobia hash tag campaign

Thousands of South Africans took the streets of Durban to assamblage against violance and xenophobia acts. The campiagn went viral to the country thanks to social media. The protesr occured on the 15 of April 2015. Communities joined the strike online using social media as their tool of communication spreading awerness throught the country about the protest which allowed leaders who organised the strike to send out the core message. People formed groups in sociak networks such as twitter:#saynotoxenophobia and #peacmarch, where people were enabled to voice out their opinions. South african police , civil rights groups and non gorvenmental organizations were part of the 10 000 people who participated in the protest.

This became a success through the usage of social media resulting the organisations of the protest to be achivable and active.

Social media have given out platforms to foreigners/ to voice out their grivience and fears in regards of the situation. This resulted in getting more Sout Africans to join in the #peachmarch voicing out their frustrations and anger agaisnt Sout Africans who are violating and killing innocent foreigners. The deluge of violant act has given rise to the hash tag campaign to serve condemenation of attacks being perpetrated in our country.
Regardless of all the helpsl social nedia has given to this hash tag campaign to stop violance and cenophobia acts in our country, some of our fellow citizens decided to be against of this campign and use social media as a tool to spread the violant a t around South Africa, by influencing more people to attack and spread xenophobia acts in the country. This was done by informing people about the transport arragement through social network. E.g it has been noted that inflamantory are being spread spread on social network inciting violant.

This has proven us that gone are thise days whereby peaople used to depend on media people to spread awerness and the message for them. Social media has played its role in making peoples lives easier by allowing us to market and advertise our campaigns without spending millions or rend to reach a huge amount of people and for tbe campaign to became a success. Gone are those days where communication was seen and used as a one way communication tool whereby journalist were the only people to send out to the public. Social media has cut lose all the ties allowing the public to voice out their opinions

The impact of social media in #fees must fall campaign.

The smart move through marketing and advertising the #fees must fall campaign.

The #Fees must fall campaign is a protest motion led by students of higher education in response to an increase of fees in South African universities. The protest started on the 15 of October 2015, led by the students of the University of Witwatersrand spreading their grievance to other universities such as University of Johannesburg, University of Cape Town, Tshwane University of technology, University of Kwa Zulu Natal and others. This spread of information was achieved through the use of social media such as twitter, Facebook, you-tube as their communication tool.
Social media influence was massive in driving the message throughout the whole nation although its somehow misinterpreted the core concept around the whole campaign, but other than that it has been an excellence strategy of marketing and advertising the whole campaign across the nation without spending millions of rends for publicity unlike the professional organisations with qualified and highly skilled marketers who would have run to media for coverage and publicity.
They used social media as their tool for marketing the whole campaign persuasively with posting their options on Facebook and recording videos to post on you tube and vans websites. This disabled media people to change the whole core concepts into their own  perspective because students were able to step ahead of them through the usage of social media where people can listen read and view the real reasons for the organizing and protesting of the strike.
Although social media played it role in spreading the awareness and grabbing media attention about the campaign students were also able to go  offline and into the streets. political parties have been formed in motive of helping student of all south African students to fight this battle, this brought some change and hope in most students who have partake in this campaign. The young people of South Africa are asking how they can get themselves out of poverty if they cannot afford the required tool to combat poverty with, namely education?

The impact of the usage of social media was a success in terms that the spread was not only through social media but it was also heard in radio and seen in television by all South African citizens.  This is how you build a brand. Advertising people and marketing specialist should learn one on two strategies in this campaign, social media is the new route where you can have a massive publicity without spending millions and billions or rends for publicity.

The way this campaign was a success it feared the whole government which resulted them into responding to the demands of the students as soon as possible. For more information follow the live below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mycP5rlbZ4
